Leigh-on Sea
Leigh-on Sea a civil parish, administered by Southend on Sea. It's history goes back to the Domesday book, named as Legra and called a one horse town. During my life its been known as a fishing village
famed for it's sea food which is eatern in the sheds along the sea front. Alas now days they are a bit more refined and lost a lot of there old character. It still has a unique charm. The channel is now silted up, given the sun shining on the mud. It takes some time for the sea to cover it

Leigh on Sea
On a visit to my brother, we met at little sea side resort of Leigh on Sea, famous to Londoners for it's Cockles, Wilkes and Prawns. There fresh from the sea (or mud when the tide is out) you either like them opr you don't. I do my brother hates them. While walking around after eating a prawn sandwitch
I took the above photo of a group of children with mum seated eating their lunch. Next to them a tramp
having a sllep in a bus shelter. The image itself seemed a bit flate so I posterized it with photoshop. Posterization years ago took hours using darkroom techniques now in a matter of a minute you can see your separtions

Floods
These were green fields. In february the rain was so bad that they were covered in water. It happens in Suffolk in an area that is not prone to flooding. I shot this image for it's pictorial value. My thoughts were with the rest of the U.K. at the time and with Pakistan today

Lowestoft, Suffolk, UK
It's summer, the sun is out, it's warm, people of every size and shape are swimming sunbathing or just strolling. Life is wonderfall? so long as you don't let 'them' get you down.

London, the River Thames
A trip to London from my home in Suffolk, ment I walked around the town where I used to work many years ago. I remember the mini skirts and boutiques in Chelsea, the buskers on the streets, the crowds in Oxford street, tourists everywhere, the pace of life seemed fast, it seems a lot faster now.
Most cities are the same, fun to work in when your young. As you get older you relise the cost in travel, stress and the cost of running a business in town.

The wonder of computers. A few years ago to obtain a result like this would mean you process a colour transparency as a colour negative film. Then you print it. Many professional photographers did not have the processing equipment to do this, or the inclination. Or the creative ablity to visualize the finished result. Of course todays image maker still needs this creative ablity. Even if they are using photography, paint (oil or acrylic), coloured pencil, watercolur or even molten pigmentted beeswax.
The original photograph was taken at Lowstoft, Suffolk and the background was cleaned up with photoshop. For the second photograph the invert button was used with slight coloue adjustment.
